Hina Bayat Reveals Her Show Inspired Aamir Khan’s ‘Satyamev Jayate’
Hina Bayat Claims Her Show Inspired Aamir Khan’s ‘Satyamev Jayate’
Veteran actress Hina Bayat recently shared her thoughts on the influence of her talk show Geo Hina Ke Sath on Aamir Khan’s acclaimed program Satyamev Jayate. Speaking as a guest on After Hours, Bayat revealed striking similarities between the two shows.
The host, Ushna Shah, praised Bayat’s work, saying, “You had a beautiful and strong show, and later, a similar show was made in India, which Aamir Khan also copied a little. Can you tell me more about it? What were the similarities?”
Reflecting on her show, Bayat shared, “When we first aired, topics like psychological problems were rarely discussed openly. There were many taboo issues we addressed. My aim was never to sensationalize but to make people aware of these challenges. Discussing one person’s problem could help many others.”
She explained that the initial concept of her earlier program, Uljhan Suljhan, focused on specific social issues before evolving into the broader scope of Geo Hina Ke Sath. The show’s tagline, “In life, we don’t just want to survive; we want to live,” encapsulated its mission to inspire meaningful conversations about life’s challenges.
Bayat recalled how her team noticed similarities when Satyamev Jayate aired. “When we saw it, everyone said, ‘This is our set; this is our content.’ At that time, we didn’t watch their shows, and they didn’t watch ours. I wouldn’t say they copied, but they were definitely inspired by it,” she stated.
Bayat’s groundbreaking efforts in Geo Hina Ke Sath addressed taboo subjects with sensitivity and empathy, creating an impact that may have transcended borders. Whether directly inspired or not, her work undeniably paved the way for important conversations in the South Asian entertainment landscape.
