Triptii Dimri Removed from Kartik Aaryan’s ‘Aashiqui 3’
Triptii Dimri Dropped from Kartik Aaryan’s ‘Aashiqui 3’? Here’s What We Know
Bollywood actress Triptii Dimri, who was initially cast alongside Kartik Aaryan in the much-anticipated musical romance Aashiqui 3, has reportedly been replaced. According to Indian media reports on Wednesday, the actress, known for her bold roles in recent films, is no longer part of what was poised to be a defining project in her Bollywood career.
Sources claim the decision stems from creative differences and concerns over Dimri’s recent filmography.
“Triptii was excited about the project, but it’s not happening now,” a source revealed. The delay in the production schedule was cited as one possible reason for her exit, though conflicting reports suggest she was dropped due to her portrayal of bold characters in movies like Animal and Bad Newz.
“The heroine of Aashiqui 3 needs to embody a sense of innocence, and Triptii’s recent roles have shifted her image. The makers felt she no longer fit the soulful and pure vibe the franchise demands,” an insider explained.
Furthermore, the source mentioned, “After Animal, her presence hasn’t generated significant buzz, and her solo films haven’t performed well at the box office.”
Amid these developments, reports have surfaced about other actresses being considered for the role. While there was speculation about Sharvari Wagh stepping into the part, sources have denied her involvement. Emerging talent Imanvi Esmail, set to debut opposite Prabhas in an upcoming project, is now being discussed as a potential lead.
The makers of Aashiqui 3, directed by Anurag Basu and led by Kartik Aaryan, have yet to issue an official statement.
Initially announced in 2022, the film was expected to continue the legacy of the beloved Aashiqui franchise. However, production challenges and disputes over the title have caused delays. The project was originally co-produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Mukesh Bhatt but has since become a solo T-Series production, tentatively retitled Tu Aashiqui Hai.
Despite the uncertainties, Kartik Aaryan remains committed to retaining the original Aashiqui branding, reportedly working to reverse the title change. Fans eagerly await updates on this much-anticipated film.
